Understanding Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Join Rachael Britton, PsyD, LP as she interviews Sam Lapham, MS in Marriage & Family Therapy about Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. Sam is a therapist at Lotus Counseling Center and has found IFS to be a very helpful tool in his practice.

IFS is an integrative approach to individual psychotherapy developed by Richard C. Schwartz. It focuses on helping individuals understand the development of certain behaviors, responses, thoughts, and emotions and how they present themselves today. In this interview, Sam introduces different roles we create within ourself and provides a brief description on how to navigate internal parts of self and how they work as a system.
