Laura Baker, OTI

Outpatient Therapy Intern

Individual Therapy Ages 10+

I am currently pursuing my Master's in Counseling and Psychological Services at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. It is my aspiration as a therapist to foster growth and change through a client-centered approach, rooted in a strong therapeutic relationship. My aim is to help clients discover their therapeutic goals and support their journey to achieving those outcomes.

My therapeutic style is influenced by several models, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness. I am also trained in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I enjoy working with individuals 10 years of age and older who are experiencing difficulties in their everyday lives.

My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions/stressors, grief, and developing coping skills. By fostering a supportive and accepting environment for my clients, I hope to assist them in achieving their individually unique goals.

My hobbies include acting, New York Times puzzles, hiking, baking, board games, and trivia.
