Kate Blesener, MA, LPCC

Outpatient Therapist

Individual Therapy Ages 16+

I completed my Masters in Counseling and Psychological Services in 2020 at Saint Mary’s University and I am Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC).

I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and families. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR; a trauma-focused style of therapy), and I approach therapy through an attachment and client-focused lens.

I believe that all people seek security, connection, and a sense of belonging. When these fundamental needs aren’t met, especially in early childhood, mental health symptoms and other struggles can arise. As a therapist, I help clients explore and understand their learned patterns of behavior and how those behaviors impact relationships and how they show up in the world. With this increased insight, clients are better able to develop and use skills and their own emotional intelligence to build healthy connections and in turn develop a more fulfilling life.

I’d love to help you, the client, understand yourself better, decrease negative emotionality and increase positive emotionality and feelings of connectedness.

My clinical interests include: adoption, anxiety, autism, identity exploration, depression, family issues, grief/loss, life transitions and trauma/PTSD.

Being a therapist is truly a privilege and vocation for me. When not at work, I enjoy snuggling with my cats, being outside, reading lots of books, and trying new restaurants with friends and family.
